Writing a press release is a different style of writing than that which you may be familiar. Therefore it’s a unique skill. The purpose of a press release is to get an editor or writer interested in your story. It must be interesting and relevant to topics about which they write, as well as factual. Use the quotation(s) in the release to subtly deliver your marketing message. Too many people use it as a promotional piece, which will get tossed by the editor.
