CASE STUDY: RITA'S WATER ICE

We are the agency and consultants that helped Rita's grow from 23 to over 200 stores.  We created most of the original marketing ideas and strategy that made them an icon in the region and a leader in their category. 

It was our idea that made the first day of spring synonymous with Rita's Italian Ices, where they open all their stores for the season (most stores close from October-March) and give out free water ice all day.  It's become an annual event in the region.

We negotiated Rita's connection with the Philadelphia Phillies and the opening of a sales kiosk in the stadium which helped them achieve tremendous exposure and build a leadership image in the region.

We engineered their cause marketing and community relations program that helped people feel great about the company and boosted their stature in the community, like bringing water ice to this camp for under-privileged children (and getting it covered on the evening news!).

Here is also an example of our introducing a new flavor, mango - including publicity, advertising, point of sale materials, and more.  Mango quickly became the 3rd best selling flavor, just behind the classic lemon and cherry, thanks to our promotion.  Below is a sample POS poster.  Our public relations staff set up monthly events designed to bring a continuous stream of new customers into the stores to see what the excitement is all about, generating tremendous awareness and sales!
